Background: I started racing local motocross in Ohio and PA in 1996 at 4 yrs. old. I steadily progressed through the mini ranks with success. At 12 yrs. old I moved
up to the big bikes because of my height. I have been successful in collecting
both local and regional titles from 2003 to 2009. In 2003 I started on my
quest to qualify for Loretta Lynn's. In 2004 I missed qualifying for Loretta's out of the Regional in Danville, VA by one spot because I was racing with a broken thumb.
In 2005 at the Steel City Youth Regional I crashed while in qualifying position
suffering a traumatic brain injury. Thankfully, treatment and recovery went well, but I
was off the bike for 18 months. Through that process Fred Andrews and Jimmy
Jarrett convinced me to take up Off Road (Hare Scramble) racing once I
received the doctor’s clearance to ride. Since I live very close to Fred Andrews
(GNCC Champ), Scott Watkins (GNCC XC2 front runner), and Jimmy Jarrett (OMA Champ, GNCC #6, and multi ISDE Gold Medalist) I have been able to improve my race results by riding and training with Fred, Jimmy, and Scott on a regular basis.
