Personal History

I am the Director of Columbia College at Ft Sill, Oklahoma. I have been riding dirt bikes since the mid 1980s and early 1990s. I joined the US Army in 1995 and was not able to ride due to mission demands. I served in Iraq in 2003 with the 101st Airborne and was wounded in June 2003 (Broken right wrist that took several surgeries’ to fix). In 2006, I left the Army and became a Hospital Administrator and an Instructor for the College that I now Direct. I started riding dirt bikes again in 2006 after I bought my son a KX85 and myself a KDX 200. I have raced Endures throughout Oklahoma for the past several years. Last October I raced the Blackjack Circuit Race in Oklahoma City and became addicted to racing Endures the involve racing against the clock as oppose to "banging Bars.” I still race endures that involve "banging Bars" just to keep in-tune. I have raced a local motocross several times (fifth is the highest placed). I was racing my KDX 200 in the 125 class. I also have formed Rocky's Motocross Ministries. We teach kids how to ride and try to provide a positive influence in their lives and witness for Christ for those who are open to hear. I have four boys so I am always taking a load to the tracks about every weekend to ride and guide these young men towards a positive future and keep them out of trouble. Yes, I even check their report cards too; bad grades mean they work in the pit that weekend. I fully fund this ministry and try to pay for entrance fees and anything else when I can.

I have also introduced Soldiers here at Ft Sill to Dirt biking. many ofthese Soldiers are Combat Vets like myself and fing riding is a way to releave stress, tension and replaces negative behaviors, such as heavey drinking, use of drugs and assists coping with family issues. Riding dirtbike is a positive Adrenaline rush that replaces the negative receive in combat. Through this I have been able to get these Soldiers to open up and and talk about their experiences since I myself have been in combat. I always recommend a Kawasaki once I have them hook and man they get hook quick on riding. Team Green all the way.

Riding Goals

I will be racing the Blackjack Circuit in the Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Missouri area this 2011 season. I just bought a 2011KX450F and will be using this to race. Love the bike and still keep the 2006 KDX 200 in tiptop shape as well as my son’s KX85. Ride Hard My Friends and thanks for producing a great bike at a great price

I also plan to continue to use Dirtbikes as a ministry to work with the youth in my local area so they can have a positive outlet and learn about the sport.

Two year plan is to compete in the Baja 500.

Four year plan is to compete in the Baja 1000 when I turn 50yrs old. Riding keeps my you and in shape!

Competitive Highlights

My first Blackjack Circuit race was in Oct 2010 in OKC (80 miles in 2 and half hours). It was the first race I was in where you are just racing the clock. I love it, it is truly my favorite. Banging Bars when you are 46yrs old can catch-up with you sometimes :). I place 5 in 2009 in a local riding a KDX 200 in the 125 class. There were 15 riders in the class. My first motocross in 20 years. I have raced several OCCRA races and finished sixth in a Race in 2010 in southwest Oklahoma (40 miles race) with a broken clutch lever after 10 miles. Once the Green flag drops, I am determined to finish not matter what the cost.
