Personal History
My name is Robert K Gentry III. I am known as Robby Love at the track. I got the name from going to the stock car races as a kid with my step dad (Buddy Love). I never really got into dirt bikes until 2018. I went to the dirt track weekly and spent many days and nights in the garage working on cars. I got my first race car in high school and really enjoyed it, but I didn’t like that I had to wait to drive the car until the weekend at a race without much practice. I ended up getting out of racing when I first joined the Air Force. I still enjoyed going to the track everyonce in a while traveling to new places.I decided to get a sprint car and race, but without much knowledge of setup on this type of car, and lack of practice it was difficult finding my grove on the track. I was not enjoying fighting the car and spending hundreds each week trying to race. I decided to try something different my friend talked me into gettin a dirt bike. I got a 13 rmz250 and struggled at first. I took some MX training courses with professional MX/SX riders. I fell in love with track riding. I ended up buying a Brand new Yamaha and continue to ride tracks. I love the moto community people are welcoming and helpful. My girlfriend fully supported the decision and likes to travel to the tracks with our dog. I still work full time in the Air Force and also am pursuing my degree, my other free time goes into riding. I look forward to my days off to feel the ultimate freedom of riding.
Riding Goals
My goal is to race A class. This year I will run beginner and hope to win some races and try for a championship in my local race series. After some wins I will move up to C-class and progress my way through A class in the next 5-7 years as long as I Continue to enjoy myself while riding. I do not plan on pushing myself to hard where I do not like to race. I currently ride 2-3 times a week and try to stay in good shape.
