Personal History
My name is Roark R. Benger. I live in Kuna Idaho with my dad, mom and older brother Fenix. When I'm not practicing or racing on the track I like to play football, ride my bike or scooter and anything else outside, but right now I want to focus on racing. I'm currently training for the 2020 race season. My family also loves the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and of course riding. I also like watching dirt bike movies and playing dirt bike video games when I can't ride. When I was a toddler I started showing interest in toy 4-wheelers and dirt bikes, tearing it up on a battery powered 4-wheeler. For my 4th birthday I got my first gas powered 4-wheeler and was stoked to go even faster! When I turned 5 I got my first dirt bike, a 2008 Suzuki JR 50 and was ready to ride the desert trails with my family. Once my dad was happy with my skills on the Suzuki he decided it was time for a bigger bike, so for my 7th birthday he found me a 2005 Honda CRF 70. After a lot of practice in the desert, I entered my first race at one of the local tracks (Owyhee Motorcycle Club) at the end of the season in 2015. I continued to ride my CRF 70 through the 2016 and saw success on the peewee track. At the end of the season it was time to move on to the big local track. In early 2016 I moved up to a 2008 KTM 65XC. My dad rode with me a lot so I could start the bike myself and learn to shift. We didn't do as much track riding in 2016 and 2017, but my dad and I continued to practice i the desert and the mountains so I could really get comfortable on my bike This made my transition to the big track easier. I now continue to battle it out with other kids my age and in my riding class. For the 2020 race season I will be entering 3-4 motos per event on my 2018 YZ 65 and my 2020 YZ 85. Focusing on open classes with my 65 and beginner and age group on my 85. Cannot wait to race in 2020, #2020vision !!!
Riding Goals
To prep for the 2020 race season I am currently working with my coach, on and off the track. I'm at the track as often as possible, or even just out riding depending on weather. This year we plan to hit as many local races as possible, but also have big plan of travel to several different circuits around Idaho, Utah, and Washington. From there I'm going to keep watching my hero's race, and strive to be the best rider I can with the support of my family and supporters. I know I'm young and just starting out with racing, but I would be so thrilled with the support of any sponsors willing to take a chance on me, as one day I hope to be a pro.
