Personal History

my name is Riley Trueman, I am 19 years old and I reside in Flin Flon Manitoba, Canada.
I was born in Saskatoon Saskatchewan at the Royal University Hospital on August 28th, 1995.
My parents were young, having just turned 21.
Like any young parents will know money was tight and they had to take what work they could get.
As a result for the first several years of my life my parents and i were constantly on the move.
We lived in multiple houses within the city (Saskatoon) before moving to Martensville when I was about 4.
After a brief stay there we packed our bags and headed to Cut Knife where the pay was better for my dad.
I attended kindergarten in Cut Knife, with a small handful of other children before moving back to the city (Saskatoon) were both of my parents could work.

About 90% of my childhood I was playing outside in the mud, but it was about this time that I had gotten my first taste of dirt-biking. My cousin and his step-dad both had bikes and raced at a local track near their acreage.
I used to go watch them on the weekends when i was too little to ride, and thought it was the coolest thing ever!
But who would have known that after my first time on that old Honda Cr50 I would become addicted to riding motorcycles?

Money was tight back then, that's for sure! But I wouldn't say we were poor, at-least If we were I'd never know until much later.
My parents are wonderful people and they would do anything to make me happy.
I remember standing in my back yard in Cut Knife when I asked my parents for a dirt-bike.
We couldn't afford to buy one and obviously I was super bummed, but my dad thought about it and said I've got deal for you.
He told me "All your friends get an allowance and you don't, BUT all your friends do chores around the house too" he paused, "Your mom and I will give you $10 a week if you do all your chores when your supposed to.." again he paused. "We will open a bank account for you, and your chore money will go in there every week. When you have saved enough money we can go look at dirt-bikes."
In the span of about 60 seconds I went from being really bummed to super pumped, and started on my chores immediately.I took out the garbage, vacuumed, and did the dishes religiously for just over two years. The dream of OWNING a dirtbike flowing through my mind the entire time.

it was  my 8th birthday, We had relocated to Flin Flon to be closer to grandparents a few months prior, and I was just beginning a new school year with a bunch of kids i had never met before.
that was hard for me, and my parents knew it.
I had saved about $1000 or so of my chore money, and my dad took that, with a bit of his own cash & bought me a brand new Panterra 90!
It was just a little Chinese bike with cheap parts, but it was mine! and it was all i needed to learn on.
I spent countless hours riding that little semi automatic, tuning and modifying it to perform better, and fixing the inevitable broken parts that come with more aggressive riding.
I rode that bike until i was 10 or 11 and blew it up for the 2nd time, at which point it got retired and I was back to dreaming about once again riding my OWN bike.

When I was turning 13 I got my first job, at the local McDonalds. I was even more determined this time around. Despite starting my first year in high-school, experimenting with drugs and alcohol, and rebelling against anything and everything I could, I had managed to save enough money that when, in May of 2009, I found a sweet deal on a used 450 I jumped on it! I traded the guy i bought it off of $3100 for the bike, a couple jugs of oil, some filters and a Monster Energy jacket. it was a 2006 kawasaki that had been flipped over backwards and needed new plastics, handlebars, and a tailpipe. But after a few hundred more dollars I had a bigger, faster bike then anyone i knew! and i was still only 13!

I have spent every summer since riding, crashing and honing my skills.
I have been working with a personal trainer and a dietician, and have lost 100 lbs to date.
I've committed myself fully this year to becoming the best rider I can be. Between being in the best shape of my life, having amounted almost a decade of motorcycle experience (6 years on a "big" bike), and with my drive and determination to be the best, 2015 is going to my most epic season yet!

From big air hits in the local sand pits and epic drops off the exposed bedrock of the Canadian Shield to behind-the-scenes parties and gnarly crashes, I plan on sharing every moment with you! The good, the bad and the ugly.
if you follow me 2015 will be one WILD year!
