Personal History

My name is Rick Baker. I have a lot of reason why I shouldn’t be riding a dirt bike much-less racing at 49yrs old. I’m going Blind in my right eye with 20/400 vision as of now. They give me shoots in my right eye every month. I was in a bad street bike accident in 2005 when I broke my left knee backwards. They almost had to remove my left leg. Only have partial moment. It will only bend to 90°. They told me I needed a total knee replacement but to hold off as long as I can stand the pain. With all of that be said I’m not complaining because most people don’t get a second chance when they have a motorcycle accident. I always have a smile on my face and people love to talk to me for what ever reason. Now let me tell you why I ride. I didn’t think I was ever going to be able to ride again. I love it more now then when I was a younger man. I can’t get enough. Maybe because my ride days are getting closer to the end?   I’m asking for support for the 2020 season. My goals are to make it to Loretta Lynn’s in vet class. . I think with a little help I can do it. I have the speed just need to get in better shape. Working on that now. I am currently racing in the eye for MX series here in Florida. I am in six out of 12 which I think is great considering I haven’t raced in 25 years and I only had my bike for three months.. There’s a new series that starts in February that covers the middle to northern part of Florida. We will be racing diamondback gator back and several other tracks.
