Personal History

I am 51 years old and race +40 and +50.  I work full time for UPS, married, 2 sons, 4 1/2 grandkids....one due in December.  I began riding when I was 38 which is much older than your average motocross racer.  Since the beginning, I have absolutely loved it.  living in Kansas makes it difficut to ride year round, like I would like to, but in the last few years I have started to race outside the state and look forward to it every chance I get.  My current bike is a 2012 Kawasaki 450.  Over the years I have had others (Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki) but I really like my Kawasaki.  Strangely enough, as alot of the riders I race begin to "retire" from the sport, I just keep going.  Looking for every single angle possible to make me a better....fast rider.  I typically finish in the top 3 and last year was my first year at  Ponca City and I received a 10th overall in my class.

Riding Goals

We will be leaving in a couple of weeks for our big race at Millville, MN.  This will be our first time there and are really looking forward to it.  My goal is to finish in the top 5.  I also plan to race at Freestone later this fall. I raced there in March of 2011 and finished in both classes, +40 and +50 3rd overall.  Just last year we purchased an RV so going to the out of state races would be easier and more economical.

Competitive Highlights

You would be hard pressed to find a more competitive 51 year old.  I train with guys 20 year younger and do everything possible to keep in good shape and frame of mind.  Definitiely the tops for me would have been Ponca last year and also the championship race at Freestone in Texas.  Racing with guys from all over is exciting and I have learned so much.
