Personal History

I raced only regionally in the FREE STATE in South-Africa,

got injured before race season ended and was out of racing for close to a year. I then started a small Bike shop in my town and has been running it since my injury. I recently got back into racing, been going to the gym and spending time on the bike every day. Will start my full race seaon in 2009 again.

Riding Goals

I want to start a race team in my region and help privateers and amateurs.

I have identified 10 riders already, all of them has talent to make it, but lack the finances. 3 Riders finished TOP3 in their class for 2008 season.

Been in contact with MSA (Motorsport South-Africa) to register the racing team, they're very impressed with the idea and said that this will help the sport stay alive for privateers.

The setup cost for a racing team is very high and we're struggling to get the idea to work without decent sponsorship.

I believe that all riders must have a opportunity to be able to compete in racing and be competitive with bigger sponsored teams. Not helping privateers with maintenance cost, cost of bike setup/racing prep and kit, mostly stops brilliant riders from developing and being spotted by big racing teams. Which normally forces them to  eventually stop racing.

I will be team manager and also compete, but the sponsorship is really actually meant to help privateers in the team I’m trying to get going in 2009.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This would make a difference to many riders as we want to reach more riders and eventually try to help all privateers.

Competitive Highlights

I always fininish a race , even If I have to push the bike over the finish line. I constantly finish under the Top 10 and race to make my sponsors proud. The other riders I want to help normally finish TOP 3 in event, but do have a DNF on 1 or 2 races during 2008 season.

I believe that helping out these privateers, we will keep the sport alive and also inspire them to keep racing and get even better results.
