Personal History
I have rode bikes my entire life in our backyard and on trails, but I am very new to the track scene. About a year ago my husband started riding again and I was at the track with him every time cheering on the sidelines. Well I finally decided I wanted to try it. He went and got me a KX100 to start out on. I rode it a couple times that week at practice and he said for me to just try a race so on March 17 I raced my first race. Every since I have raced every race that he has gone too. He said he was going to ride the big side of texas series and since I was going to be there I was going to race them to. Very intimidating at first but now that I have been riding a couple months I have seen how much all the different tracks have taught me and I am thankful he pushed me to ride them all. I eventually want to move up to a bigger bike but as of right now I want to just get a little more experience and just have fun with it. But I am very competitive so when its race time the game face goes on! I love this sport and glad my husband has supported me and pushed me to do it.
Riding Goals
My main goal is to have fun and be happy with my ride every time I get off the track. But I am very competitive so I would like to eventually move up on my bike size and ride as hard as possible and give the other girls a good race. And possibly race with the boys so that they will push me to do my best on the track during a race.
Competitive Highlights
On August 25, 2013 I had raced at Rio Bravo in Houston for the first time. There was a girl on a 450 that i was competing with and also one on a 150. So we come out the gates and i get through first corner infront and then the 450 passes me, but i dont let her get to far. I am on her tail the entire time. I get around her in the 2nd lap and 3 turns later i hit a big step up and over jumped it and layed my bike down on the turn with the back tire hanging off the burm. Needless to say she passed me back but i didnt give up! I got back up as quick as i could and gave it my all. I couldnt even see her in front of me but something told me to continue to give it my all. on the final lap (4th lap) I catch back up to her and another bike that had passed me. I finally got around the boy who was racing in a different class and i am once again on her tail. Then before she even knew what happened i had passed her back and pushed to the finish line taking 1st Place! It was the greatest time on the track that i had yet. I pushed hard and gave it my all and it paid off! :)
