Personal History
My name is Rebecca Stout I am 16 years old from Price, Utah. I am a Jr. at Carbon High, grades are something that are very important to me so I have always had good grades. As of right now my cumulative GPA is a 3.9 ranking 17th in my class. My biggest passion is definitely anything that involves a motorcycle. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 7 years old and just recently started racing 3 years ago. Racing is something that I am lucky enough to share with my family. My brother, dad, and sister all race and my mom is our number 1 fan and pit crew. My little sister and myself race minis together we always have my parents and brother ready waiting for us with anything we could possibly need. This upcoming season I will be racing big bikes with my dad and brother I am super pumped to be starting next to them on the bomb runs. My dad and I spend many hours in the shop working on my bike preparing it for the upcoming races. My dad is an amazing mechanic I am lucky to have him, he will stay up however long it takes to have my bike ready running to its best ability.
Growing up my family used to spend at least 2 weekends a month up on the mountains that were about a 2 hour drive from my house. On this mountain you can "adopt" trails that become your responsibility to maintain. We would wake up eat breakfast and around 9:00 be off riding trails we would ride all day and return around 5:00ish accomplishing around 50 miles a day. That is a lot of riding when you are young it seemed like forever. The trails that we rode were not easy most the time. Many times I had to try the hills more than once to make it to the top. But I never gave up. Now that we race most weekends we no longer have the time to go up on the mountains as much as we used to, but we are still all together and that is all that matters. We now race instead of riding all the time, I have met many amazing people and experienced many things that I wouldn't trade for anything.
I also enjoy running, riding my pedal bike, and spending time with my friends and family.
Riding Goals
I want to always try my hardest to always put in my full effort even when I feel like giving up. I will always practice as much as I can on and off the bike. From going to the gym, riding my pedal bike, to riding my motorcycle. I will practice in every aspect of riding/racing to make myself a well rounded rider. When it comes to racing I want to never put my races before another riders safety, and to always stop and help downed riders if they are alone and seriously injured.
Competitive Highlights
This last year I have been racing in the boys class which gives me a lot more competition. This is caused me to push myself to the limits sometimes. This October I was racing in a small town in Utah. I went into this race knowing that I had to win so that I could finish top 3 in my class for the year. The start did not have very many good lines so I got there super early, at the end of the bomb run I was in 2nd place. I just found a steady pace and waited for him to make a mistake, which was a good call around 3 miles into the race he missed a turn and I was in First. By the 3rd loop I had pulled a huge lead, I finished the race with this huge lead winning the race and scoring my 3rd place for the year.
Another one of my competitive highlights would be when I raced my first solo big bike National. This race was in Panaca, Nevada I was super nervous because of all the dust that is on the start. I got a mid-pack start and throughout the race I was slowly catching more and more people. When I came into the pits half way through the race my mom told me I was pretty close to first place. I pushed myself and came really close but I ended up in second place after working my way up to the front of the pack.
