Personal History

As a product of the eighties, I was raised on stories of Ricky Johnson, Jeff Ward, Broc Glover, Guy Cooper. Only one kid I knew had a
dirt bike, I used to ride my bicycle the 4 miles to his house just to see if he was riding. When he was, he would stop to share stories of aggressive racing and feuds at the professional level. My parents had little money and would not support the sport for me on any level. On the weekends my mother would drive to my grandmother’s house to assist her with household chores. On the way to her house we would pass a street sign that said, “Unadilla NY 67 miles”. After we were done she would give me 2 dollars for a dirt bike magazine at the local store. I would read them until the pages fell out, and still have them all to this day. In 1980 Marty Moats and Bob Hannah were king, and every story about Unadilla was saved. I read them all. I was never allowed to go. My commitment to work and schooling has always come first for me. Many years would pass before I would chase this dream.
For 16 years I pursued skydiving and have accumulated over 4,000 skydives. We used to fly directly over multiple dirt bike tracks in the
NY, Catskills. I realized that was a part of me that I had let go. Surrendering one sport for another, I gave up skydiving in 2006. Soon I purchased a 2003 CR250, 2 stroke. Scared out of my mind, I spent the entire first day on that bike in first gear. I also started a rigorous training program. Everyday, rain or shine, snow, sleet, and heat, I worked to accomplish my goals. I would and still do run 5miles, bicycle 20 miles and go to the gym for a cross-fit program. Riding the bike twice a week and wrenching for myself I have a taste of the same adversities that most privateers have gone through. Still to this day I have invested close to $10,000 dollars into that same 2 stroke that I race every weekend. It will always be my bike, if it breaks I’ll fix it and if it wears out I’ll replace it. I am very loyal to it.

Riding Goals

I completely understand that I will never win a national, or go much beyond the AM class. At 39 yrs. old I started this adventure late in life, and I am hoping to help the sport and people in the sport. I am a great representative and am loyal to those who help me.

I have won some trophies however; it’s the stories that seem more important. I have a great sense of determination; I don’t want anything that is not earned. Some of my greatest motos were for a mid pack finish. I believe your actions off the track parallels your on track performance. I would consider your sponsorship a job, I would be proud to represent you.

Competitive Highlights

Over the last few years I have had some great firsts. I’ve taken the hole shot in the open novice, lost it (got taken out), moved to 40th
place and came back to pass 18 bikes to finish 22nd in 3 laps. I don’t know how many people can say they know what its like to have 39 nineteen year olds chasing them on dirt bikes. I’ve heard my name announced as I was in the air above the tower jump at Unadilla, leading the moto. That was really cool (I took second that moto). I threw a top 3 finish, because I flagged for a fellow injured rider at the base of a jump. Moments earlier on the starting gate I saw him waving to his two young children, he would have gotten crushed for sure. I just simply couldn’t let that happen. I won a trophy by default and declined it. The best moto of my life was for a second to last place finish. I’ve avoided imminent conflict of an immoral rider by letting him by, knowing I was good enough to pass him again safely elsewhere. These are the stories of racing that the youth need to see and hear.
