Personal History
My name is Preston Miranda and am from a small town just 45 minutes west of Philadelphia. I am from a family of 4 boys, I am the 2nd oldest. I started riding at the age of 10. I began my riding career with flat track and then quickly migrated to motocross. I will still frequent our local flat track for events if it does not conflict with my motocross schedule. Over the last few years my father has taught me how to be my own mechanic. I do my own mechanic work most of the time with some assistance from my father. In 2021, I applied to attend the Loretta Lynn National MX event as a factory apprentice mechanic. There were 200 applicants, they only chose 5 for factory mechanic program and I fortunately was 1 of the 5. I spent the week at Loretta's working with KTM, Yamaha and Honda. It was one of the best experiences I could have hoped for. After my time at Loretta's, I was determined to build my own race SuperMini as the YZ85 I was riding was getting too small. My father purchased for me a bike frame and provided me the opportunity over the winter to build a SuperMini. By the start of the 2022 race season my SuperMini was ready to go.
I currently attend a Technical High School for Engines. Most of my free time is spent working to earn money to support my racing hobby or in our garage working on my bike.
Riding Goals
My riding goals are to be safe, have fun and become a better rider with each race. In 2022, I debuted my newly built SuperMini at the Lorretta Lynn Area Qualifier where I placed 9th and earned a spot at the Loretta Lynn Regional. I also participate in the MDRA Racing Association Series where I finished 3rd on my YZ85 1.2-15 class and 3rd on my SuperMini.
I am currently working on obtaining sponsors and saving money so that I can purchase a YZ125. My goals for the 2023 race season are to race the MDRA series for SuperMini as well as 125/SchoolBoy class. I aspire to become a top rider again this year and hope to earn a spot at the Loretta Lynn National MX race. I also plan to attend the Mini O's event next year in Florida.
My plan after graduation is to attend a Motorcycle Mechanic school and earn a mechanical position working with a professional rider. I hope to earn my pro-card as well.
My lifelong goal is to own my own motocross track and motorcycle performance shop.
