Personal History
My name is Preston close, I am 14 years old and I have been riding since I was five years old. I started on a Honda CRF 50, it was probably the best decision and day of my life! Ever since that day, I have always dreamt of being a professional motocross rider! I was always intrigued by watching Supercross and motocross on television! At age 9 I got my next bike, it was a 2009 CRF 70! It was the first bike I put numbers and stickers and completely wanted to make it look like a racing machine! As I was riding with my father one day, I saw a big wide open gravel pit! I asked him if we could go down there and I've been riding there ever since! I broke my first bone riding my CRF 70! I jumped it over the top of the hill and went over the handlebars, it was painful and I dislocated my shoulder and broke my wrist. My next bike I owned was in the spring of 2013. it was it 2007 Honda CRF 150! I owned the bike for two years. It was one of the most fun bikes I've ever Rode! May 31, 2014 I had my first broken bone crash on my 150... I broke my collarbone and suffered a concussion, I was out for racing for one month, I came back to the same track one month later and I redeemed myself by getting a fourth place finish in 85 open! I took the rest of the season easy, not wanting to hurt myself. Two days before my birthday (September 13th) I got my 2007 CRF 250 R, and I still own it today and I've loved every second of riding with it!! I rebuilt the engine this winter, giving it a whole new top end. I have done all the motor work and all detailing work under my own money and labor. I will be racing the entire 2015 DMC motorsports circuit around northeast North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota.
Riding Goals
Some of my riding goals throughout my entire life has always been to become a professional motocross/Supercross rider! I am a firm believer that I have the willpower and the mindset to get to that stage! For the last three years, I have been working out in the winter after school! It has definitely helped me a lot more with my racing and just my basic riding with some of my best friends! I have definitely been working my butt off this winter in the gym because I will be racing 250 C class instead of 85 open. My current goals right now, are to successfully race this full season without being injured, get some sponsorship deals with some great people, and overall have a really good finishing season! There's nothing I would love more than to be holding a number one plate for the 250 C class at the end of this year!
Competitive Highlights
To be honest, I don't remember many of my racing recalls. But I do remember that I finished twice three times last year in 85 class, and I finished fourth two times in 85 class last year also! I have never raced a full circuit of racing with DMC motorsports, but I plan on doing the full circuit this year on my Honda CRF 250 R! I know for sure that I have gotten one whole shot before. Many of my friends tell me that I am very fast office starts and then I can whip them! I'm looking forward to a great season this year and I will definitely keep up with my sponsors with what happens!
