Personal History
Hi, my name is Porter Butterfield, I live in Redmond Ut. I started riding 4 wheelers when i was 5, after several years i swithched to motorcyles. Rode bikes for 2 years and wanted to start doing it compettively. Had my first race in April of 2010 and took first in the 85cc begining class. We decided that if i wanted to excel i would have to move up a class, the rest of the season I raced in the 7-11 85cc junior class. The season went from March 2010 to November 2010, I attended all except the first race of the year. As i started I was finishing in the bottom of the class after half the season I was finishing in the top 5 of the class. At the end of the season in URSA i finished with the points lead. I raced all the URSA circut and some of the RMX. I am in the 6th grade and have kept my grades at a B level (something i agreed to do with my parents to race).
Riding Goals
I am looking to continue to move forward with my racing, I have signed up for the Donny Hansen school in April. We have gotten a trainer to work with me on a daily basis, I try to ride at least 5 days a week 2hrs per day. Also have started a workout program to help with strenght and conditioning. I would like to travel to more races this year and to race outside the state of Utah. I will continue my education and keep my grades at a high level. I am proud of what I have accomplished so far and am very excited of what my future holds for me.
Competitive Highlights
Started racing compettively in April of 2010, had raced a total of 13 races throughout the season. Took 4 1st place and finished the year in the points lead for USRA 7-11 85cc junior class for the state of Utah. Also in the URSA i also finished 8th overall for all mini bikes. Our basketball team just finished the season undefeated (i was the starting forward), I hold the bench press record at our jr. high for 6th and 7th grade(125lbs). I feel i am a leader and not a follower.
