Personal History

My name is Pierce Daniel Ryan. I am 22 years old, 5'7" weighing at 145 pounds. My first bike was a 1995 KTM 50. Growing up my father used to race when he was younger. He raced in the States and Japan. While in Japan, he raced for the AJMC (American Japanese Motorcycle Club). He used to tell me stories about how he would take turns, passing guys on the outside, working on the bike, and the different factory bikes in Japan. I was inspired by all his storys. I wanted to be a racer like him and win. He told me "Once you get your first win, its the biggest high you will ever have.' I want to have that first victory high and continue with it.

I started racing pee wee on my little 50 and i remeber just focusing on staying up. When it was time to move up to a bigger bike, my dad (at the time) bought the brand new KTM 65 SX. I loved the bike. I had so much fun with it until i had a major crash. It scared me off my bike for awhile. During that time, my family heavily invested time into the Boy Scouts of America. I never did return to the KTM 65, but i went for a bigger more mellow bike which was a 2006 Honda 150F. The power didnt scare me, I felt comfy on it and I began to work on my form and riding style again. Still, my family and I were still very devoted to boy scouts. Although we didnt ride much within 9 years, I earned something that many boys/boy scouts never get. Eagle Scout. The highest rank in boy scouts.

It was during the 2010 Nationals at Hangtown when my riding dream sparked again. It was an obsession and it was the want and need for adreniline. Watching Eli Tomac take the overall in his first race as a pro. I thought to myself, "A rookies first race and wins it all." I started researching and asking my dad to ride more. I grew out of my honda 150f, so I asked my dad to ride his 2001 KTM 400MXC. The biggest bike i have ever rode. It scared the living ghost out of me. But i wanted my dream. The dream to race in one professional race. John Dowd made it pro when he started riding at 20, so I thought why cant I.

I joined the United States Air Force on May 17, 2011. The first 2 years i travelled from Texas, to Mississippi, then to Italy. So im thinking to myself im never going to be able to ride if i keep traveling like this. Then I got orders to Utah. I moved to Utah in October 2013. This is where i bought my first bike. My Suzuki RMZ 250. I wash it, take care of it, work on it, and everything else inbetween. Now, I dont have a private track so i go to Jordan River OHV everytime i have the chance to hone my skills. I decided to sit out on racing this 2014 season and work on my riding style and get faster. Next year in 2015, Ill be coming to win and ill be putting all my effort towards winning as many races in Utah as possible.
