Personal History
My name is Peyton Gustafson and I just turned 9 years old. I was born in San Diego, Ca but I now live near Bellingham, WA. For my 3rd birthday my Mom and Dad bought me a PW 50 and I haven't stopped riding since. I did most of my riding in Ocotillo wells and the Glamis Sand Dunes but just before we moved away from California, I started riding the tracks in Lake Elsinore and Perris Raceway. My next bike was a KTM Adventure which I had my first track experience on. I knew I wanted to race! I didn't ride for a year after moving to Washington, but I bugged my Dad enough that he gave in and bought me a used KTM 50 JR/SX. My first race was at Port Angeles, WA where I finished 4th overall with a bad clutch in my first race. My second and third races were also in Port Angeles at the first two rounds of the Gold Series. In round 1, I got the holeshot but got wrecked going into the first turn. My bike was tore up, but with a little help from one of my competitors Dad, I got out for Moto 2 and finished 4th. In round two I finished 3rd overall for the day! It was a great experience. My dad could see how much effort that I was giving my racing, so he sprung and bought me a new KTM 50 SX and got me some lessons with a local pro named Kyle VanDyken. I love the new bike and my coach is really making improvements in my riding. I am also learning how to ride my KX 65 and hope to be racing in that class as well this season. I have a great attitude about racing, and I am willing to work hard to get better. I am looking forward to working with some sponsors and showing off some really great products on the track.
