Here we are about 5 years after I won my title .  days after I locked up my #1 plate I broke my leg... hurt bad...  came back in 09 and didn't do much.. a few races and a couple of podiums..  2010 did nothing 2011 did nothing..   2012 I got the bug again and decided to swap districts as MSC was falling apart , and run my old District 34..   Had some great races..  a couple of heart breakers that I should have won but either got passed or crashed out.. sat out the middle of the season but still managed to get 4th overall for the year.. There was major competition in that district but the problem was that there were only about 4 guys every week that showed up in my class..  so it made it kind of boring after a while... if you were on you were in the mix... if you were off you were left to run with no one... so I'm looking at making a decision to run the 2013 motocross season back in my good old MSC.. which has pretty much regrouped and has some more rounds this year than last year..  I am 35 years old right now.. and I am able to run +35 and +30A as well..   I need to work on my fitness and also need to work on finding a sponsor and a bike to run.. but I have some time to do that ... I have picked up MTB riding and that is awesome... and also gets me into amazing shape... so we'll see ... stay tuned ...

Diamondback Mx marked a great day in my life/ career as I officially locked up the +30a championship with a 3rd in the first moto!!   As the gate dropped I started in about 3rd but by the end of the first lap I passed for the lead.  It felt great to be out front i with all of my sponsors and family there knowing that this moto that would lock up a childhood dream of mine, .. to hold a # 1 plate.!

On lap 3 I made a mistake in the middle of the whoops and lost a couple of spots.. rather than risk blowing it with one lap to go I settled in for third and wrapped up the 2nd District Championship of my racing career!

There are 3 more rounds left and I am still in contention for the Ace Motocross highpoint track championship and I am still sitting in 2nd for the +25A championship as well./  My training is not done until I can wrap those up as well.!

I'd like to thank all of my sponsors for allowing me the opportunity to compete in all of these events, and helping me to be as prepared as possible week in and week out !!!   ::  Ready Racing Filters! V.S. racing, Renthal, Utiopia goggles, Rob Beckley Performance and most of all my Wife who has stuck with me through the good and bad and gave me the strength to realize my dream!

In closing I'd like to dedicate this Championship to my good freind Chris VanBlarcom  from PRO RACE PHOTOS... Chris passed away on August 18 of a heart attack..  You were there for my first Championship.. and I dedicate this one to you bud!!  I miss you!   Go Team Pro Race Photos !!

Not the best day not the worst day./     The track was perfect , the bike however was not so much..    Struggling with a bike that wouldn't start and when it did had the power of a 250f, I knew the day was going to be challenging one.   The bike started for the first 30A moto but barely,././  I came from 7th to 3rd in the first moto and put in a decent ride among some of the districts best..

The second moto however didn't go so well. as the 2 minute board was waving in the air the # 200 honda was pulled out of the gate in an attempt to pop start it down the large paved hill at Southwoods..  It finally fired but had a hard time staying running... I probably shouldn't have even ridden it but with the Title on the line I felt I needed to.    I started in about 5th and worked up to 4th behind the # 5 of V. Scannipico.  As I started to apply pressure the bike would stall every time I pulled in the clutch and I was forced to pop start it and loose a bunch of time. Finally in a large bowl turn at the top of the track leaning into a berm the bike shut of and I went down..  Although it restarted I came to the checkerds for 7th and 5th overall...

Diamondback is next weekend and all I need is 9th to clinch the title and put an exclamation point on the end of long and challenging season!!  With the engine trashed in my bike I'm hoping with the help of Rob Beckley Racing I can get it in shape  put the # 200 behind the gate again and wrap up the season.          Stay tuned.

For some reason Claverack and I don't get along>>  Although I have had brief stints of top performances there.. For the most part I struggle there.  Riding injured for the last 2 weeks I thought it better to only run the class I am leading and let the 25A class rest for a week.  In the first moto, the track was horrible muddy and the ruts were pretty brutal.  As I crested the first turn I believe I was in about 4th or 5th, rounding the second turn however the rider in front of me swapped out and there was no where for me ( or anyone behind me to go )  we crashed into him and flew.. I mean flew, off the top of the G-out.  Suffered a nice cut on my knee and some tire marks on my shoulder. Outside of being sore I was ok.  I got up in 16th and somehow came back for a 10th in the first moto.  good for 3 points toward my goal.

Second moto I pulled 2nd out of the gate, while Mike Spear made a quick pass on me about 1/2 a lap in. I ran in Third for most of the moto until the # 78 passed me to put me back in 4th.   All in all I'm happy I made it through it and that there are now only 6 rounds left !!

Carter Gurnee took 1st again while Mike Spear returned to action to get 2nd. Gulian took 3rd overall, and my 10-4 results earned me 6th for the day.     I am very looking forward to Southwoods MX Next weekend as I have consistantly performed very well there!

Due to a severe weather forcast the Diamondback round for 9-7-08 has been canceled..   This will allow me to rest my legs up for Claverack next week.    This also extends my lead on the Championship!! and my # 1 plate !~

Ace was a tough day for all as there were a bunch of serious accidents of a lot of good friends of mine./   That aside despite a terrible crash in the 25a first moto, I came back and put in a respectable 3-3-3 finish in the 30a class.//   Still fighting for the championship with a bruised right foot and torn acl in my left knee, I ran second for the majority of both motos before Mike Gullian passed me on the last lap.  Carter Gurnee ( Nat # 165 ) took first, Mike Gullian took 2nd ( qualifed big for Canadian Nationals)  and I took 3rd.. So all in all it was a good day.!  I gained another 20 points with my overall and now have a good lead over Carlo Coen, and Kurt Mcmillen for the 2008 M.S.C 30A championship.!

Coming off of an injured hand and a tough week at Claverack, The pressure was on to get up into the top 3 again, and maintain my points lead in the +30A class.

In my way was Carter Gurnee, Nat # 165 had come to Southwoods to prepare for the upcoming Southwick National. The gate dropped for the 1st moto and Carter and I came in 1 and 2,  I rode awesome for the first 3 laps until he began to pull out about a 7 second lead. Then I went down in a soft sand burm and stalled out !!.   Luckily I had enough of a gap from 3rd that I found nuetral kicked it a couple times and it fired. I stayed in second and was ready for the next moto.   In +25 I had a nasty get off and tore something in my left knee.  Knowing the points situation my wife wrapped it up and sent me back out.  As I dropped down into the start of the 2nd +30A moto I was bumped around and went down. After restarting the bike and getting underway in 16th position I charged through for the ride of my season to put myself in 4th with 2 laps to go.  As I caught up to the # 2 and 3 riders we came into the uphill tripple together, and I was able to pass them both in one leap, riding home safely into 2nd behind Gurnee.  All in all a good day and I leave Southwoods with a 68 point lead on my competitors.  Now it's time to rest the knee, hang out at Southwick, and come rested and ready for ACE in 2 weeks!!

          Thanks for reading!!

Tough day out in Claverack Ny. Still fighting an injured hand I wanted to be carefull not to throw the title away by further injuring it.  The track started out as grass in the morning/ nothing had been done to it since the last time we visited.   +30 could have been an awesome race but an unfortunate start and a one line track made it difficult to pass. I advanced from 11 to 4 in five laps and gained 9 more points on second place for the championship. / +25 I got a great start and ran 2nd from start to finish.!  Good strong ride. At the midway point the sky opened up and they canceled the second round of motos.  Next week is back to Southwoods.

I am  still the Current points leader in the +30A class after Southwoods this weekend.  Although Riders such as Barry Carsten, Carlo Coen, Kurt Mcmillen and Darren Edsel  were there,  I  managed to put in respectable rides in both the +25A and the +30A class!   With 9 rounds left I am working super hard to pull of another Championship for myself !
