Personal History

My name is Owen Luther. I have one sister who is my biggest fan. I like giving her rides on my bikes. I like hiking and playing in the woods with my dad. Whenever we race in North Carolina we always stop and do the hike to the top of Pilot Mountain. At home I like to play motocross/supercross games on the XBOX. If I’m watching tv, it’s usually old motocross races or a training video to improve my skills. I also enjoy watching “learning” shows, like documentaries, National Geographic and stuff like that. I like to read books like those too. I just got a new kindle to start reading on. I have two dogs. Our one dog always comes to the track with us, she is a golden retriever.

I also have my own “cake business” where I make and sell cakes and cupcakes to help pay for race fees, gear, and parts for my bike. It is named “OboTrex Cakes” and on Facebook.

I started racing in January 2023 on a PW50. A few weeks later I started riding a Husqvarna TC50. Summer of 2024 I got a GasGas MC 65 for my birthday. I also switched to a Cobra FWE in the 50 class.

Riding Goals

I ride for fun and to spend time with my friends. I have improved a lot this past year. I am getting podium finishes now and competing with some of the best racers. I plan on attending LL qualifiers this year and hoping to make regionals and “punch my ticket”. The 50 class is really hard and there are a lot of really good riders to compete with. I plan on racing the Buckeye Series this summer along with our local series at TriState MX. I am looking to focus more on my 65 this year. I plan on getting some training and more practice to improve my skills and knowledge of riding. I have very good bike control and consider myself “track smart”, I am good at adapting to the track and the riders around me but want to be more aggressive (in a safe way). I am attending Mini O’s this year and hopefully Mini Monsters.

Competitive Highlights

In the 2023/2024 indoor season I finished 8th and 9th in 50 open and 50 SR at TriState MX.

In 2024 I finished 2nd in 50 open and 50 SR in the TriState Mx outdoor series.

I finished 3rd in 50 open and 50 SR and 1st in 65 JR in the KY state championship in 2025

I have had two 3rd place finishes in 50 SR in the Rt 62 winter series.
