Personal History
My name is Noah Giles and I am 18 years old. I was born in Huntingdon, PA and I grew up and still live in a small town called Alexandria, PA. I am the youngest of three and the only boy of us three. I have always been riding dirt bikes my whole life since the time I was 3. My dad found a love for dirt bikes and the sport at a young age and he passed it down to me as well. Growing up I was always around dirt bikes and the sport. From being with my dad at the track or going to the Pro races it was always around me. Going to a small town school I was always involved in school sports year round. When I was young I never did much track riding at all. I did a lot of riding in my back yard whenever I was on a PW50. As I got older I kind of faded away from riding so much and focused on my favorite school sport which was baseball. I played a lot of baseball in the summers and it took up a good bit of riding time. Baseball was my main focus for a couple of years and I wanted to be a Professional baseball player. Around this time I also got big into BMX and did a lot of BMX riding. Growing up where I did there wasn't any tracks around me and all there was were fields and woods. Whenever I got a 85 I started to ride a lot more. The only riding I ever did was in fields and in woods. The summer of 2015 I got a brand new 2013 YZ125 and that's when I really started to get into it. After about a week or two of riding my 125 I wanted to go to a track for the first time in 8 years. Ever since then my love for the sport sky rocketed and I was having so much fun. For the rest of the summer we continued to go to the track just about every weekend. In 2016 I raced for my first time and got 5th in 250C on a 125. By this time motocross became my favorite sport and it is now my main focus and what I work for. Christmas Day in 2016 I got a brand new 2017 YZ250f and that has been my bike ever since. Ever since I got my 125 we have become regulars at a local track near us. The thing I love about motocross is the constant progression and seeing how much I have improved. Motocross is by far my favorite sport and my passion for it is huge.
Riding Goals
Riding for me is a way to get away from everything going on and to feel free. It takes away my stress and puts pure enjoyment in me. The days I'm at the track and riding, I feel like me the most. I feel like I belong there. I love to ride and I love the sport so that is the majority of the reason why I ride. A huge aspect of why I ride is because of my father. He has done everything he can to make sure I can ride dirt bikes and race. I ride for him and to make him proud. Motocross has created such a great bond for us so I feel like everything I do is not only for me but for him as well. I tribute everything for him and I owe him everything in the world. Motocross is just simply so fun to do. I don't do things if I don't have fun doing it but everything I do, I try to make it fun. Being the only kid at my school that races motocross I like to try and prove everyone wrong that has said negative things about the sport. I want to show everyone what motocross is all about. Hopefully I can prove the ones wrong saying I can't make it in this sport. All it does is motivates me into trying harder. My goals for this upcoming season and the seasons to follow is to first of all stay healthy. If I stay healthy I know I can have great results throughout the seasons. I'm hoping to get a couple wins this season and to finish top 5 in points for whatever series I do. Ultimately my overall goal of this year and the years to come is to qualify for Loretta Lynn's. It has always been a dream of mine to go down there to compete with the best in the amateur ranks. Hopefully all goes as planned and I do big things this year.
Competitive Highlights
In my first race in 2016 I placed 5th in a Breezewood Outlaw Series race. Each year of racing I get better results and my performance gets better. In the 2017 racing season I raced majority of the Breezewood Outlaw Series. Finishing in 3rd, 5th, 6th and some other top tens through the series. The 2018 race season didn't go as planned due to a bad illness in the beginning and some unfortunate bike problems towards the end. However I was able to get two 4th place finishes and a couple top ten in the Breezewood Outlaw Series. I raced the MDRA Series at Pleasure Valley Raceway and came away with a 5th and 12th place finish. For the 2019 race season, I finished 2nd overall in points in the 250C class and 4th overall in the 450C class in the Breezewood Proving Grounds Outlaw Series.
