Personal History

My name is Nico.  I'm a young boy who loves to ride my dirtbike!

My dad was an amateur B Class rider who grew up on the tracks.  When I was a toddler, I watched him race and I really wanted to be on the track too.  On my 3rd birthday, I got my first dirtbike! I rode it with training wheels for a few years in open baseball fields, farms. kid tracks, and my backyard.

In the summer of 2016, for my 9th birthday, I got at KTM 50sx!  I try to ride every day, even if it's just at home.  Since my mom is a teacher, she's home with me to help me practice my starts in the backyard.  When my dad gets home from work, he takes me to tracks as often as possible. My little sisters cheer me on, and recently they even packed the gate at the starting line for my race.  We love to camp out at the races together and make fun memories with friends and other riders.

When I'm not riding, I spend my time playing baseball and riding BMX.  My dad and I go to an indoor BMX park where I can jump ramps, do tricks, and even jump into a foam pit! I guess you could say I spend half my life with a helmet on! I also exercise at home to keep me healthy.  I have a little circuit training setup in my basement where I workout with my parents.  On rainy days, I like to watch races on tv, watch documentaries about riders, and watch youtube videos of riders.  I like to focus on small details that will help me be better; like when riders shift going off jumps, or when they pull tear-offs from goggles, or whether they switch lines in turns during races.  I think the small things can sometimes make a big difference.

Riding Goals

I am ready to be a competitive motocross rider!   I want to get to as many races as possible so I can get experience.

I want to learn how to get faster in turns.

I want to spend more time with my family at the races together.

I want to be safe.

I want to win.
