Personal History

Hello! My name is Nicholas Nelms. I’m from a small town in Colorado ( Falcon Colorado ) I grew up here my whole life. I come from a family of racers but not a family with the most money. When I was 3 my grandma bought me a PW50 and when I turned 4 I had my first race at Watkins raceway in Colorado. Ever since then I fell in love. Raced every race and slowly progressed to a ktm 65cc at age 6 then my parents got a divorce. I had to give up racing and riding for 12 years. On my 18th birthday I took all the money I have saved up and went and bought a 2016 kx250f. Had my first race back at aztec family raceway during the winter combat series a year and a half ago and killed it! I got the hole shot in the main and got 3rd overall (c) class. Now 2 years later I ride a 2020 crf250r and have progressed so much. I raced spring a ding ding 2021 and got an overall of 26th there. This past year I’ve been working so much trying to plan for my future. I own a construction business but the profit in it isn’t there yet. I try to get out and ride as much as possible but that’s maybe once or twice a week now. I am now a top 3 local c class rider about to move up to be where I will be a top 10 rider as all my friends are b class racers.

Riding Goals

My riding goals is to just keep progressing and ride as much as possible. My biggest goal of all is to make it to lorrettas eventually!  But I want to continue riding until I die. It’s a way of life!

Competitive Highlights

I raced my first arena cross last year and won both my heat races in the c class and got a 3rd in the main!  I put it on the box at my local races almost every time!
