Personal History
hey MX sponsor, friends, and the motocross community, i'm Nick Lavella, hailing from kersey PA. i'm 20 years old riding a YZ 450. I've been riding since i was about 10 years old, and started racing shortly after at a couple local tracks. First started out on an RM 80 and worked my way up the ranks. I didn't really get my speed until i started riding my YZ 250F in the novice class, and started winning races and going more places. Tracks that i normally run on are Steel City, High Point, Pleasure Valley, Mapleshade MX, ECR MX, Dublin Gap MX park, Budds Creek, Southfork MX, Virginia Motorsports Park, Lake Sugar Tree, Birch Creek, Actiontown, and North Carolina Motorsports Park. I came to virginia in january of 2008 and started my riding and training early and really helped out. I joined the military in 2006 after highschool, and got 1 year left on my contract. But it hasn't really Affected my riding. I've still been able to go where i wanted to without being tied down with the Army. Aftermy contract is up i would like to get the motocross industry because it's a big part of my life. I loved motocross ever since i sat on a bike and if i don't make it racing, i would really love to be around the sport for my career. I have many friends in the sport, and we all love riding and pushing ourselves to reach our goals. I had a major injury with both my knees, and hopefully i won't be laid up for to long. Can't wait to get back on the bike. Overall, i just love to ride and train. I look forward to riding every day, and i have fun doing whatever it is i'm doing. always going to concerts and mx nationals. Thats my free time. I'm a rock and roll and hard rock guy. pumps me up and gets my mind right! thanks for reading
Riding Goals
Of Course, Theres always goals.
1. let my knees heal and get back to 100%. and get my body back in condition.
2. Come back riding hard and always training to get better.
3. Qualify in the Northeast Region for Lorretta Lynns.
4. Win a state championship in either virginia or pennsylvania.
5. Stay consistant with my results.
6. Get some great sponsors to help me get to these goals.
Competitive Highlights
I wasn't always competitive as a rider. It took a while but after i started winning races, i started to see what it took. Going to bigger races with bigger names and agressive riding styles tought me about being competitive. I tought myself how to ride hard the hole race and to never give up with a battle. Were all out there for one thing, to win. So thats what i train for, and it's gotten me to be competitive in everything. I put in alot of effort and get satisfying results in return. I've raced against really good riders in my district. Most of the time came up short of a win, but i was able to stay and battle with them for most of the race and gave me confidence to get better for next time. I've had many competitive highlights, it seemed like every race i was battling some way or another. It makes it all fun and worthwhile.
