Personal History
My name is Nick Kononchik, and I compete in the J Day Offroad series here in New England. J Day Offroad is the fastest growing series in all of the east coast, and draws in over one thousand spectators at each event. 2012 was my first year of racing competitively, and taking the experience I have gained over the past seasons of racing, I hope to take a serious stride towards a championship in 2016.
Riding Goals
2014 was filled with bad luck, with three too many mechanical issues along the way, and turned into a learning/transitional year as I ditched my 4-stroke for a 2-stroke. This was a massive change, moving from a 100% 4-stroke background to my first 2-stroke ever. Now that I have several months on the new bike under my belt, I feel that my pace is just about back to where I previously was on my 350. Even though my overall performance was down compared to 2013, my raw pace has improved, which led me to win my first moto win in J Day Offroad. 2015 was a huge improvement with consistency and overall pace, I think I have what it takes now to be battling for wins from the very first race in 2016.
2017 will be a move to the B class full time.
