Personal History
Dirt bikes came into my life around the age of 10, and strictly became a family activity. It wasn't until ages 15-18 that I started doing some local District 36 hare scrambles, and occasional motocross races. I won the 250C and 15-19C WORCS championships in 2008, during my first year of college. Racing dirt bikes slowly faded out of my life and I continued college, though riding still happened on the weekends with family and friends. Especially dirt bike camping for the major holidays in northern California. After graduating college from California state University Chico, I still didn't have a chosen career, and so I stayed in the college town Chico and worked 3 different jobs. I ended up moving to Houston Texas at the end of 2017 to further my education in Cardiac Perfusion. Fast forward to July 2020, I came home with a new 202.5 KTM 450sxf. It had been about 4 years since I had ridden a bike and was about 7 months post ACL surgery. Working on the front lines through the covid 19 pandemic while juggling being a husband and newly father to my daughter, riding my dirt bike has become difficult to find the time to get the seat time that I want to try and be competitive once again. It is all about balance and being able to stay competitive while not riding over my head to be able to ride again another day.
I am a loyal representative for all sponsors and appreciate any and all interest.
Riding Goals
To ride smart smooth and consistent. I have a strong competitive personality however, I am no longer just living for myself. I have a family now so I if I want to keep riding and racing, I need to stay safe which means I can't always push the limits for myself. After just getting back on the saddle and racing this year I already got bumped to the expert class in the Over the Hill Gang club here in California. So I would like to be on the podium for as many rounds as possible. It seems that with more seat time I continue to ride that old speed I once had as a teenager. I am also still dialing in my dirt bike, just purchased a set of ohlins fork inserts and purchased their rear shock, which has helped tremendously. I had a bad crash off the start at Mammoth this year (which was my first time) and so I would like to be on the box next year in the 30+ C class, before moving myself to the B class. I am also striving to find a work/family/moto balance to where I can ride once a week. This is still a work in progress, but I am determined to find a way.
