I feel stronger each race and focus on improving one of my skills each race. This week I went out with the determination to take the hole shots - It paid off. Although I held onto 2nd for most of my 2nd race, I have to give that extra power at the end of my moto to prevent giving up my position. I will head to Mototown this week to work on my stamina

Name: Nicholas Peter Mastrangelo
Age: 9
Organization: NEMA – New England Motocross
Rider: 65 C
Nick started riding in the fall of 2005 on a Honda 50 with NETRA. He attended 3 races during that year and found he enjoyed racing, but had never taken any air or left a starting gate.
In June 2006 he attended Tony D’s School of Motocross at Central Village MX track in CT. He found his new passion!!
He immediately joined NEMA in time to race the fall season, we bought him a 2003 KTM 65; he hasn’t missed any race since.
Nicks big story is his dedication and the unbelievable drive to improve. Although only riding Motocross in the Fall 06 series his improvement was significant. Those that saw him pre-Tony D’s cannot believe this is the same kid.
He started his first series at Central Village placing in the bottom 23rd/24th 35+ riders, however, in his first four months worked his way up to finish top 10. He took 11th place overall for the fall series at NEMA and 17th overall for the 65 ALL class.
He rode in the 2006 New England Regionals, the smaller bikes had a difficult time with the depth of the mud, and it rained solidly most of the weekend. He was so determined, even though coming off a number of times, rode every race and finished all but one moto. That moto he was buried in a rut and the guys couldn’t get his bike started. He walked off the track beaming and said mom “that was the best race everâ€. For those of you that were there will understand the conditions they rode in.
Nick practices at a track in Rocky Hill in CT and is taking some lessons at MotoTown USA. He is heading down to Waldo in FL for February Break to get ready for the new season. He is determined to be a 65 B rider for the fall series – we expect him to make it sooner.
Nick will start the ’07 spring series with a second bike that he has modified over the winter and d
