Personal History
My name is Nicholas Lawliss, I am 16 and am currently in 10th grade. I enjoy playing school sports like basketball, and baseball. My overall school average is a 95.6, and I am enrolled in all honors level classes. I work at a local orchard in the summer so that I can pay for my bike, race fees, and all other parts. My parents feel that making me pay for my hobby will teach me responsibility and respect for my equipment. When I was 13 I bought my first bike, a 2007 crf250r. This is the bike that I learned the ropes of motocross on. After two years on that i bought myself a 2009 crf250r. After riding this bike for 6 months i was burning up clutchs and valves on a regular basis. I then picked up a 2010 rmz450. I have been riding this bike for a couple of months now and am starting to feel comfortable on the bike. We have a small motocross track in our field that I am able to ride at every night I am able to. On Thurday and Sunday I am fortunate enough to be able to ride at a local private track. The track is an expert level sand track. Over the last two years I have raced about 6 district 3 races. This year we plan on going to about 6 more district 3 races as a family. As soon as I get my license in July I will be trying to compete in two races per month. I am looking forward to gaining some knowledge in racing this year so that next year I will be competative in the points series.
Riding Goals
My goal for this upcoming year is to attend as many races as possible. I am also going to try and make it to almost all of the VMA races. My main goal is to win an overall in the novice class. Along with this I work on my own bikes so I want to complete a full motor rebuild on my own this year.
Competitive Highlights
My most memorable highlight is winning the invitational race at my local track at the end of last year.
