Personal History

I chose motocross as my riding type as Hillclimbing was not an option.  I am 22 years old, I have been hillclimbing since I was 12.  My entire family (mom, dad and two brothers) also compete in the Amateur division of hillclimbing.  I began my career on a CR85.  After my first season I was hooked and knew that being on my bike was all I wanted.   Over the next 9 years I moved on to a CRF250; a KX500; a Huseburg 650; and a KZ 1428.  I went on to school for motorcycle mechanics and graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in 2012.  After a pizza delivery job I secured a position at National Powersports Distributors, and I love it.  They are very supportive of my racing.  Last year I approached my parents and expressed interest in becoming a Pro Hillclimber and without hesitation they asked what we needed to do to make that happen.  We had an 8-race schedule and I finished 7th overall in my Pro Sport Division (out of 16 riders).  I was very proud of that accomplishment.  We had a full year of adjustments that needed to be made to my YZF 450 and I feel that this year I am sitting an a great position to accomplish more podium finishes.

Riding Goals

I am in hopes of securing some sponsorships that will allow  me to do more fine-tuning to my bike.  I can compete one more year in the Pro Sport Division (the entry division to the Pros) and then I will have to move up to either the Unlimited or the Extreme Classes (bikes OVER 450CC and typically running on NITRO).  Then I'm hoping to gain maybe some type of factory sponsorship in order to be competitive with those bigger classes.  I'm truly looking forward to moving up next year and am hoping I'll have some help to be beside me as I move up.

Competitive Highlights

In my last two years as an amateur racer, in a 11 race schedule each year, I finished in the top five every race in the Open Division (bikes over 750 CC).  My first year competing in the Pro Division I finished 7th out of 16 riders; competing with some 2nd and 3rd year Pro riders.  Very excited to continue the winning!!
