Personal History
Hello, My name is Nathan Reid. I am 17 and I have been involved with racing ATVs’ for the last three years at increasing levels of competition. I begin racing in 2010 on a Honda 300 EX against older riders that were racing 450’s but still managed to finish in the top five. For 2011 I started the race season on a stock 2006 Suzuki 450 and won my first two events only to be sideline for the remainder of the year because of injuries. In 2012 I switched to a race modified 2007 Honda TRX450R and at the conclusion of a full season I took second place overall in the CMRC Central Division in addition to competing at TMCMX in Newberry where I entered 4 races and was able to obtain a second, a third, a fifth and a seventh place overall against individuals that are 5-15 years older than me.
I ran an expanded 2013 race program which will include a First Place Overall in the CMRC ATV Junior Class, plus regional two first place finished in AMA District 14 races as well as two firsts two seconds and two thirds at TCMX. I plan to continue to run my 2007 Honda TRX450r with Walsh suspension, RPM axle, Fox shocks plus Houser nerf bars and stem with a Precision dampener . I am getting ready to begin disassembling the quad in preparation for the next season.
I am looking for both technical and product support so I can take my racing program to the next level. Over the course of the last race season my mechanical and technical skills have improved drastically through my involvement in all aspects of the repair and maintenance of my race quad. Prior to starting the season the quad was completely disassembled, the frame powder coated and then rebuilt. I replaced the ball joints, tie rod end, A arm bushing and rear linkage knuckle with parts I obtained from Walsh Racecraft. Prior to and after completing each race the quad is fully inspected and all areas of concern are repaired or replaced. My ultimate goal is to utilize the experience and skills I develop in racing to complete an engineering program at Lake Superior State University and then ultimately return to the industry in a design, development or building capacity. In exchange for your support you will be listed and promoted on the DDI Racing Website, Facebook page and blog as a supporting sponsor. Any banners or promotional material will be displayed on race days and at the motocross facility that is operated by our family. To support my racing activities this year I created a small summer business that sold refreshments and snacks at the motocross track run by our family in addition to performing general yard work in the community. My plans to continue my racing program include working in an automotive repair centre during the winter. Additionally I will continue to sell parts and accessories where possible and I would welcome the chance to act as a sales agent to distribute your products or I will refer potential clients to your already established distribution network. Your logo will be displayed on my quad, trailer, personal vehicle and motor home. Whenever I am allowed I will also set up a display area at the race events to promote and distribute product to the thousands of people come to the races.
Riding Goals
My goal for 2013 was to win the CMRC Central Division ATV Junior Division and I have secured that title with two races remaining. I was also intending on winning the TMCMX ATV Championship however conflicts with other race events and a mechanical failure caused me to miss 3 out of the 8 races however I was still able to achieve 4th overall
