Personal History
Thank you for taking the time to review this and considering me for sponsorship. My name is Kahne Paulsen, I live in Pueblo West, Colorado and I am 6 years old. When I’m not at school learning how to be a successful kindergartener at Swallows Charter Academy, I am outside riding my dirt bike trying to get faster and faster. My love for dirt, jumps and speed started at a very young age. In reality, I am convinced that my addiction to speed is probably genetic. I’m confident that you will agree after learning a little bit more about me.
My race team is called Wisthoff Motorsports and it started before I was even thought of in 2004. This family owned and operated race team started out on the asphalt circle track circuit in Pueblo, CO with my Dad, Aaron Paulsen racing Grand American Modifieds. The team quickly grew to a three car operation with my Dad racing his Grand American Modified and Super Late Model and my Mom, Montie Paulsen, racing a Late Model. Over the years, the team has secured six Series Track Championships in all three divisions, as well as multiple track Quick Time Awards and numerous Main Event Wins.
Obviously, with both of my parents racing, it was just a matter of time before I would get started in some level of motorsports. However, to my parent’s surprise, I would start out on a Yamaha PW50 dirt bike at the age of three and moved their passion from the asphalt circle tracks to the dirt bike motocross courses throughout Colorado. Within a year of getting my dirt bike, I learned how to ride without training wheels and entered into my first race when I was four years old at Pueblo Motorsports Park in September, 2018. Since then, I have competed in multiple racing series and events across Colorado. These events have included State and National Events with the Rocky Mountain Riders Association, the Kicker Arenacross Series, the Winter Combat Series and the Supercross Futures Series.
After competing in a few different events, it was obvious that I needed a more versatile bike with some updated technology in order to be competitive. For my 5th birthday, I got a 2016 CX50 King Cobra Jr dirt bike and now our program has grown from the PW50 to a King Cobra Jr practice bike and race day bike. These bikes are not your average 50cc dirt bikes. They are equipped with a Cobra Venom Series 50cc engine to help me with sustained speed, Dunlop Geomax tires to help me make it through the different types of terrain, Pro-Taper’s Micro Handlebars so my young arms and little hands can have more control of my bike and a Freewheeling clutch to help me increase my corner speed and have better take offs at the gate. I am starting off the 2020 racing season with a new-to-me 2018 CX50 King Cobra. This bike is equipped with the latest technology and a race-built engine.
This year, my schedule will include over 20 races in different series from the big dirt bike tracks that are usually a couple miles long to the indoor arenacross races throughout the Western States. I will race at IMI Motorsports in Dacono, Thunder Valley Raceway in Lakewood, Valley MX in Mosca, Wildrat Raceway in Colorado Springs, Sutak Raceway in Alamosa, Aztec Raceway in Colorado Springs and Pueblo Motorsports Park in Pueblo for the Rocky Mountain Motorcross Association.
I completed in the Kicker Arenacross Winter Series in Colorado and New Mexico. On 1/3/2020, I qualified for the AMA National Championship in Amarillo, Texas on 3/7/2020 after my second place main event finish at the Budweiser Event Center.
I understand that many people are apprehensive about me racing dirt bikes, especially at such a young age. I often hear people tell my parents that they think they’re crazy for allowing me to compete in a sport like this; therefore, you might have some concerns about sponsoring a young rider like me. I believe the lessons that I learn from racing dirt bikes will have many incredible benefits that will pay dividends throughout my life. So the truth of it is, when you are sponsoring me, you are helping me invest in my future. Racing dirt bikes has had a unique way of challenging me, while also building my confidence. I have learned a lot about hard work, the importance of preparation and how to balance my responsibilities as a student and a rider. I’m learning the importance of staying humble after the good finishes while soaking in the learning lessons from the bad ones. I have been blessed to learn some basic mechanics on the bikes, which are now my responsibly prior to race day.

Riding Goals
I will also be competing in the South Central Area Qualifier at Thunder Valley Raceway in March with the goal to qualify for the Loretta Lynns Amateur National Motocross Championship in August, 2020. This is the biggest national race in motocross, where I would be competing against the best racers in North America and Canada.
Competitive Highlights
I set many goals for my first racing season in 2019 and surpassed all of them. I competed in the 50cc beginners class, the 50cc 4-6 class and the 50cc Limited class with the MX Series and the Supercross Series. I finished 9th overall in State points out of 46 riders in Colorado. I picked up a couple wins and raced at the first Supercross Futures race at the Denver Bronco’s Stadium, finishing 9th against racer across the Country. If finished 2nd in the Kicker Arena Cross series AMA Championship.
