Personal History
I know this is a website for Motorcross however I am looking for sponsorship for Speedway and are trying to get my name about as much as possible. I am 22 years old and come from New South Wales, Australia. I have been racing Speedway Internationally since 2010.
I first rode in the UK back in 2010, for the Midlands team Dudley Heathens, who ride in the Conference league. I had a pretty good year and finished with a good average point score. I hoped to ride in the UK again in 2011, however unfortunately, my contract with Plymouth fell through and I had to stay in Australia.
Last year I signed for Edinburgh Monarchs, who ride in the Premier League at Armadale Stadium. This was a big step for me as I had never ridden at any of the tracks before and moving into a higher League meant tougher opposition. I have had a pretty hard start to the season and so have decided to try and gain some extra support.
2012 was a tough year for me just weeks after arriving my UK host suffered a stroke on the day of my first race for Edinburgh and remains in hospital. This has meant that I have had to find alternative accommodation. I was unlucky enough to have £1500 worth of damage caused to my bike when an opposition rider crashed into me.
I changed the type of bike frames that I use, whilst this was a massive financial commitment for me, the decision seemed to have paid off when I scored my highest points this season using my new frame on Friday 13th July. However, the luck wasn’t too last, when an opposition rider crashed in front of me causing yet more damage to my bike and also left my foot broken.
After breaking my foot Edinburgh signed a replacement and therefore I was left without a team place, as soon as my foot had heeled I contacted Berwick and became a Berwick Bandit for the remaining of the year. This was probably one of the best things that happened to me in the 2012 season. I achieved some good point scores and my confidence began to grow and grow. I finished the year moving from reserve to number 2 in the main body of the team and still scored some high figures.
This year so far have rode in the Australian titles where I finished 8th overall. I also made the final in round one and a clip of one of the races can be see here
Riding Goals
I have signed for Redcar Bears Speedway Team for the coming season. This year is a very big year for me as I am hoping to improve on my average a lot. I set myself short and long term goals and a goal of mine for the coming year is to end up a heat leader. I rode at Berwick Bandits towards the end of last season and I believe I finished a good second string rider especially at home. As a rider I believe that it is important to set short term achievable goals and I strive towards mine in the coming year.
