Personal History
My name is Michael Phillip Vowell. I was born in Cali., but lived in Chicago most of my life. Then my 8th grade year I moved to live with my dad which is where I am now. I graduated high school in May of 2007. I've been riding for 6 years but racing for 6 years. Racing is my life. I eat, breathe, live, racing. Its not just a hobby to me, but a passion. All I want to do is race. I'm trying to work as hard as I can to become the best racer possible and become a pro racer one day. I watch all different types of reacers to learn how to become better. I don't really want to do anything, but race.
Riding Goals
Some of my goals for the coming year is to keep progressing as fast as I already have. This was the first year for me to race a TRX450R and I raced it 4 times in begginer class to get used to it and now I already have to move up to the next class because I don't have any competition in the begginer class anymore. One of my main goals is to succeed in the C class and learn more about racing and hopefully move up to the B class by next year or the year after. I'm definately going to keep pushing forward no matter what happens and make my sponsors proud as well as myself. One of my main goals is to become and overall better racer and smarter racer too. My other main goal is make my sponsors proud and honored to be sponsoring me. I'm going to keep conducting myself in a respectful manor on and off the track and show my gratitude to all my sponors.
Competitive Highlights
I have two main competitive highlights. My first one is at one of the tracks for the series I race in I had never been to the track before in my life, but I was persistant and determined enough that I was going to win the race. It rained the nite before so the track was basically a mud pit. The heat race started and I got the hole shot and held first for the first 2 laps then flipped my bike and ended up in dead last, but I came back before that lap was over and took first and finished the race in first place. The main came and it was a little harder and I had hurt my wrist at the begginning of the main, but even though I was in terrible pain I kept pushing myself and held first the whole race and got first for the overall race that day. The other highlight was at a local track. I had got 2nd in the heat and finished the race really strong. The main came and something went wrong with my bike and it shut off on me right out of the gate. The other racers had a lap ahead of me when I did finally take off, but I came back and ended up winning the race and gettin first place. If you notice I have a determination about me to never give up and go to the end no matter what.
