I have to say that I'm proud of the way it went yesterday. I got the holeshot in the first moto. By the time I was finishing the first lap concious thought entered my brain and I realized that my heart was about to explode. I looked back and I had pulled about 5 to 7 seconds on DL Wood in second place. I settled down and tried to maintain more of a pace. I held on a long as I could and then had to just pull over and let him by on the last lap. 2nd moto was the same way with a little more thought instead of adrenaline. For a guy that hasn't been in a real race in 6 years I think it went really well. 13 people in the class and I finished a strong 2nd. 2 seconds behind a guy that got top 10 at Mammoth last year. I'm feeling really good on where I stand at this point. I have 2 months until the regional and I now know what I have to do to be stronger physically.

For an old "has been" that is way past his glory days, I received the best Christmas Present that a wife could get for her husband. An 09 CR 450f. I've been out of the sport for quite a while getting a family and career started. I started making weekend trips to Red Rock mx back in December. I've kept in pretty decent shape over the years playing Indoor soccer and riding a MTB every now an then so it wasn't but a few weeks into it that I could actually make it 6 or 7 laps at comfortable pace. Well last week I was approached by some old friends that are getting people together do ride the Vet classes at Loretta's this year. I have to say that it's all I can think about lately. Family is doing well, business is good, why not! I went to Cycle Ranch yesterday (where the upcoming qualifier is going to be held) and to my suprise, I felt pretty smooth and seemed to have some speed.
