Personal History

About me.

I was first approached by the idea of going to Loretta's about 3 weeks ago and every since it's all I can think about.  I'm just another "Has Been" that just plays on the weekends until now.   Until my wife got me the best Christmas present a wife could ever buy her husband (09 CRF 450),  I haven't even ridin in 5 years.  So if any of you are wondering what kind of person I am.  Just ask yourself what kind of Husband I would have to be for my wife to buy me a present like that.

I have strong south Texas roots in Motocross and I am proud of the reputation I had earned growing up riding in the Corpus Christi and San Antonio area of Texas.  I did eventually move north to persue a racing career.  I rode professionally for several years.  I had some amazing sponsors for a guy that was not a ringer in the amatuer ranks.  The last of which I was part of the Plano Honda team in 1999.  I qualified for every Outdoor national and Supercross I entered but I had some trouble making it into the main events.  The best showing in a main that I got was 24th in the 250 class in 99 at Budds Creek.  At the end of my contracts in 1999 I decided to hang it up.  My body was destroyed and I had a college degree that was waisting away.  That was the last time I rode with any consistancy until this last December.

Riding Goals

My goal is to compete at Loretta Lynn national in the Plus 25 and the Plus 35 classes.

Competitive Highlights

My first race back

 Loretta Lynn area qualifier.

I was supprised by how many people remembered me.  Even the announcer seemed to give me a lot of attention.  The Holeshots were defenitely helping with that but I had a very positive response to being at the races again.   I couldn't be happier with the results.  I lead both motos until the last lap and showed that I still have some speed to speak of.  I'm more motivated than ever to go to Loretta's and I believe that I stand a good chance at a podiom finish in the over 35 class.
