Personal History

My name is Michael Lessig, I was born 6 September 1994 in San Diego, California. I moved to Surprise, Arizona in 2001 where I started racing motocross in 2007. I graduated from Willow Canyon High School in 2012. In 2009 I won the Arizona AMX state championship in the 85cc class. The following year in 2010 I raced 250cc Beginner, which was when I moved up to the novice class after winning the first 3 races in the season. During this race season I was sponsored by The Dirt Lab/ Team Solitaire, and trained by Ryan Clark.

From 2011 to 2012 I took a break from racing to focus on school and getting into a college. I went to Universal Technical Institute in 2013 to earn my associates degree, I also started racing again in the 250cc Intermediate class the same year. As the season came to a close with another AMX state championship, I decided to enlist in the United States Army.

I enlisted 10 January 2014, and left for basic 18 February 2014. I've been to Fort Benning, Georgia/ Fort Hood, Texas/ Camp Casey, South Korea/ Fort Carson, Colorado and AP Lightning, Afghanistan. My time in the Military was an experience I will never forget.

I am married to the former Mrs. Aundrea Lauer, we own a house in Fountain, Colorado and have 5 dogs together.
