Personal History

Well where do I start.. My name is Michael Stevens and I am 33 years old. I have been riding since I was 10 years old. I have three beautiful kids who all love to ride and race and a beautiful wife who supports our habbits. We all love the Lord. We sure are blessed to get to do what we love.  I live in Ridgecrest, Ca in the middle of the Mojave dessert with hundreds of miles of dessert to ride in. About a year and a half ago I started ridding again after taking a break due to some injuries.  I bought a bike from a local pro and good friend Nick Burson. In 2007 I was talked into racing the new USDR Desert Racing series along with my oldest son and my friends. We have been having a blast every since.

Riding Goals

Well.. I started off 2007 racing in the open beginner class with U.S.D.R., after a few races I was bumped to the open novice class where I finished 1st in my class and 8th overall. This year I went into the vet novice class, after two races I was bumped into the vet intermediate class. My goal for this year is to finish in the top three at every round and win the vet intermediate class and be top five overall in the vet class. If I get bumped to vet expert that would be alright with me, then I could go for 1st overall for the year.

Competitive Highlights

I started the 2007 season racing open begginer in the U.S.D.R. desert racing series after the 3rd race I was bumped up to open novice. I finished the 2007 season by winning the open novice class and finishing 8th overall. The first two races of 2007 I suffered mechanical DNF's and I followed that up with a 1st in class and 2nd overall at Taft, Ca. From there I had two 1st place finishes, one 2nd and two 3rd place finishes.
