Personal History
I am almost 16 years old. Even though 2024 was my first season racing, I've been on dirt bikes since I was 5 years old. For my 5th birthday my parents got me a Honda 70 that I couldn't even touch the pegs on but, I took right off and haven't stopped riding since. I broke my arm in two places while racing in 2024 but I still competed in every race for VCHSS & VXCS while also weightlifting and practicing/playing football 5 days a week. I ended up in 4th place on the H line in VXCS & in 8th place in points in the VCHSS. When I am not riding dirt bikes I also enjoy circle track racing and deer hunting on my family farm in Southwest Virginia.
Riding Goals
I decided to start racing last year because I love riding. We live on an almost 100 acre farm so I have been riding the fields and in the woods here at home with my buddies for 10 years. I figure I'm a pretty good rider and since my friends were racing me and my parents decided I should too. I got a new 2023 Husqvarna FX350 and went racing! It is a lot different than the Kawasaki 140 that I've most recently been riding around the farm but I love it. That bike feels like home to me and racing is the one thing I do that is me alone. No phone, parents, friends, tv, just me and the bike - helmet on, world off. Last year my goal was to be in the top 5 in the VXCS and in the top 10 in the VCHSS. I finished the season 4th in VXCS & 8th in VCHSS! When last season started we had no intention of running both series' full time, or for points, but, I did good enough that we did and it all worked out! Without my parents and friends this wouldn't be possible.
This year I plan to race both series' again and complete for points. I would like to maintain the top 5 in VXCS which is now called TSXCS and work hard to get a top 3 in the VCHSS.
Competitive Highlights
My biggest accomplishments so far this year are my finishes - and competing in 4 races with my broken arm in a cast. The cast really made me change the way I rode but, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and I adapted well. Last year, as a first year racer I finished in 4th out of 28 bikes in one series and 8th out of 76 bikes in the other. My next biggest accomplishment would definitely be how comfortable and zoned in I am on the bike. Riding around home for fun and riding to win are two totally different things and I love them both. I love riding to win and some day soon I'll get the checkers before anyone else on my line!
