Personal History
My name is Anthony. I am 16 years old. I started racing when I was 8 years old. I raced a 70cc liquid cooled kymco atv until I was 12 and I got too tall to ride it. The law for atv motocross used to say that you had to be 16 to ride a 450cc. The rules changed when I was 15 and said that anyone 14 and older could race a 450cc 4wheeler. My parents found me a 2008 Suzuki LTR 450 Special Edition and started riding it at my house on a track my dad made with a few jumps. I got used to my 4 wheeler but I still needed some experience on the track. My parents drove me up to Daniels ridge motocross track in Taylorsville, NC not far from where we live in Belmont, NC. I raced the winter series and won first place in the beginners class every time. I even beat the amateur atv riders sometimes. My mom decided to enter me in the Carolina Ultra Series for the spring/summer of 2013. I got second my first race and from then on I went on a winning streak getting first place at the next five tracks. I ran in to quad trouble when my wiring harness in the Suzuki was ripped out from too much tension. I was out of the series for two events until my parents agreed to buy me a 2012 Yamaha YFZ450 Special Edition that I took to Muddy Creek Raceway in Blounteville, Tennessee. I won that race and was now back in first place over all for the Ultra Series. I ended up winning the series with a first place finish. I attended the Banquet of champions with my parents and was recognized as the 2013 champion for the ATV NOVICE class.
Riding Goals
As a rider and racer, I plan to continue learning how to ride better and faster on ATVs. I would like to go pro, but I want to master how to balance and gauge my speed on big jumps first. I plan on entering the Mountain Dew ATV Nationals when I turn 18.
Competitive Highlights
I have been the champion of two separate series in my class. Both the Daniels Ridge Fall/Winter series and the Carolina Ultra series Spring/Summer. I will continue to compete in the Ultra series and possibly starting next year be competing in the Thor Mega series as well.
