Personal History
My name is Micah Laramore. I’m 14 years old and I race Missouri hare scrambles and other woods-style events on my 2019 KTM 125 SX. I haven’t been riding long—less than a year—but I’ve already come a long way. I had to work and save for everything myself, including buying my first bike. I started on a Kayo K4 250, which was a great way to learn, but I eventually upgraded to my current KTM after saving up and selling the Kayo.
To afford racing, parts, and gear, I work in waterproofing on the side. It’s a real job with real effort, and I actually enjoy it. At the same time, I’m still a kid who wants to hang out with friends and have fun, but I also love racing and riding—that’s what motivates me. It’s not easy, though. Racing takes a lot of money, and I’ve had to grow up fast to make it happen. Sometimes I feel like I’m more valued for what I can earn than who I am, which isn’t something a kid should feel, but it’s part of my story.
Even with the challenges, I stay motivated and grateful for every ride. I’ve built a decent following on TikTok by sharing my riding journey and what it takes to chase this passion. Every sponsorship means the world to me—not just for the help with gear or parts—but because it shows that someone believes in me and what I’m doing.
