Rider Updates

Jan 16 2009

I am very excited to come back to the track I started racing on.  I went from one class last year when i was beginning to five classes this year and almost winning some of them.  I still can't wait for outdoor racing to begin!

I took on my first outdoor mx race this past weekend. I wasn't ready for the deep sand and mud that was ahead of me. The weekend started with our truck and trailer having to pulled into a space by a bulldozer (we were stuck in the muddy parking lot) On saturday's practice I wanted to get used to the track and check it out so I went slow to learn the track....slow was not the answer for this muck, it made for a rough day. Sunday was a new day and I found a little speed and was able to improve my finish. I can't wait to get outside again and get better.

January 3rd,4th,5th, and 6th I took my Christmas present for a four practice and race weekend in Northern KY. I spent all day thursday working at Earlywine, and let me tell you this bike has some snap at least compard to the crf150f I had. It took some time to figure out the power range but, It was awsome fast. Friday we went to Cowtown and rode it there for the day. This my first time on this track it was fun because I got to ride. Saturday and Sunday were race days at Earlywine. The womans race went well, I won but the competition was very limited. The 85 class was full and an event I found that with all the throttle snap the bike can really get squirly comming out of turns. Couple of crashes but I hung in there for a finish. Looks like its gonna be a great year!!!!!

I'm still working on technique this winter and am leading the womans class in the indoor series at Earlywine. I am riding as many classes as I can to get as much track-time as possible and compete in the 85 class, gaining confidence and skill with every race.
