Personal History
I am a 24 year old female living in Breckenridge, Colorado. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, where I rode horses and surfed on the jersey shore. I then moved to Colorado 2 years ago upon graduation from Pennsylvania State University with a major in Animal Bioscience. My hopes were to become a veterinarian, but now my focus has turned to humans. I work at a Physical Therapy clinic where I am surrounded by some of colorado's most talented extreme athletes who are a true inspiration including and especially those over the age of 60!
Riding Goals
After moving to Colorado I decided I wanted to start riding dirt bikes. After 3 rides on my first TTR-125 (which I couldn't even test ride when I bought it because I had no idea how), I decided I wanted something with a little more zip because I wanted to ride the track. I bought a yz-85 which I learned to ride track on. My passion for the track began to evolve and soon enough I wanted to harness my competative spirit and I signed up for my first motocross race. Unfortunately at the age of 24, racing an 85 is somewhat as throwing yourself to the wolves. So, the day before my race I took my first ride on my boyfriend's kx 250, and the next day I rode and raced a 250 for the first time. Needless to say I passed two girls in the first two corners and never felt so good, until I fell in a rut in the next corner and couldn't get the bike started. Still, nothing could take away the feeling I experienced from racing motocross. I have come a long way in a short time since then and purchased my own RM-Z 250, and I have begun to find my speed. Every time I get on the bike whether practice or racing my main goal is to have fun, and in doing so I feel like I am progressing with every ride. I want to show girls that this is not a sport for boys, and I want to show everyone, its never too late to try something new and love every minute of it!
Competitive Highlights
My first race was one of the last 4 races of my local RMXA race series season. I finished the last races of the season to learn about the art of competing in motocross. With the weather permitting, I rode as much as the snow on the front range would allow me over the off season. This year I have already begun racing the 2013 RMXA series again. My goal is to begin to podium in my women's classes, move to the B class next year and eventually begin to race to the men and make the pro class. I am already showing lap times equivalent to those in the top 3 places in my women's classes and I am already showing the biggest smile with the fun I am having at the races competing and making friends!
