Personal History

My name is Max Sepúlveda. I was born in 2008 in Santiago, Chile, and my passion for motocross started early. My dad bought me my first bike when I was two years old, but fear kept me off it for a while. Over time, I slowly reconnected with riding, first on a quad, then moving up through a CRF 110 and eventually an 85cc. I started training seriously in 2019 with Matías Horta, one of the best coaches in Chile. After some early progress, I faced multiple setbacks—breaking both legs in 2021, followed by more injuries, including fractured ribs and a serious spinal injury in 2024 that nearly made me quit. But each time, I came back stronger. In 2023, I raced the Chilean national championship on a 125cc KTM, finishing second overall despite mechanical issues. In 2024, I made the move to the U.S., joined MTF, and committed fully to my racing career. Even after breaking my back, I chose to return, recover, and train at MTF. I qualified straight through for Mini O’s and now I’m preparing for regionals, aiming to earn my spot at Loretta Lynn’s this year. Motocross has taught me resilience, discipline, and the value of life and sacrifice my family is not very wealthy so any support is welcome—and I’m just getting started. (racing B class on a KTM 250 right now).

Riding Goals

My ultimate goal is to become a professional rider and compete in AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross—that’s my true passion. In the short term, my main focus is to qualify for Loretta Lynn’s, hopefully directly, and to perform well there with a goal of finishing in the Top 20. I also aim to place in the Top 20 at Mini O’s. Beyond those events, I’d like to start racing more national-level competitions in the U.S. and continue growing as a rider every season.

Competitive Highlights

  • 2nd place overall in the Chilean National Championship (125cc class)
  • Top 11 overall in the Chilean National Championship (85cc class)
  • 2nd place overall in my regional championship for two consecutive years
  • Multiple wins in smaller local championships in my region
  • Consistent podium finishes in both nacional and regional events across Chile
