Personal History
My name is Maxime Van Pee, i'm half Belgian and Half Rwandese. I was Born and raised in Uganda, a small country in east Africa. I started riding motorcross 9 years ago in Uganda. I am in my last year of University at Fontys University in Venlo, Holland. I practice in Germany and Holland when i'm at University, however I race in Uganda and Kenya.
I have competed in 2 Motocross of African nations (Kenya and Uganda) and 5 East and Central African Championship. I have also com peted in 5 National Championship in Uganda.
Motocross in Uganda is growing tremendously fast, however there is a lack of sponsors which make it difficult to get the sport to where its could be. What is special about motocross in Uganda is the huge crowds we get on race days. They love it with a passion and will come in thousands to come see the event and even more when it is an international one.
For this year, i'm currently leading both the national and East and central African Championship. My aim is to win both for the first time.
Riding Goals
My aim for this year is to win the Ugandan National Championship, the East and Central Championship, and at least get a podium in the Motocross of African Nations in Zambia this August. In the future I would like to ride professional and become Africa's number one.
Competitive Highlights
I have won the Ugandan national champioship in 85cc and Mx2. My best career result was in 2012 when I came second at the Motocross of African Nations behind Sean Mitchel, Hopefully i can repeat that in this years MXOAF.
