Personal History
My name is Matthew Newman and I am 33 years of age and living in Kansas City Missouri. Besides riding and racing dirt bikes I love to ride my bicycles whether it be on road or off. I love to watch sports and spend time with my family. I have been working for a small family business for the past 8 years and really enjoy the opportunity it gives to spend time with and work closely with the ones I love.
Riding Goals
My main goal for this next season is to stay healthy and improve my skills on the dirt bike. I am planning on trying to race two different series next year, Forward Motion Hare Scramble Series (Kansas) and Missouri Hare Scramble Series (Missouri). I am shooting for a podium spot in both series. Most importantly though I am going to have fun! That is what this is all about!
Competitive Highlights
I had my best season ever in 2010 with a 2nd place overall in the FMHSC.
In 2009 I finished 1st place in the A class with FMHSC.
In 2009 and the 2nd annual Ozark 100 Miler race I finished 14th overall and 2nd place in A class. This is with out a doubt the toughest race I have ever competed in. I was racing on the bike for just a little over seven hours. I am going to improve upon my 14th place this year but was pretty happy with how things went last year with some of the top riders in the county competing in this event.
