Personal History
My name is Matthew John Leddy born and raised in traverse city Michigan, I grew up watching my dad race quads in the early 90's it sparked my interest in the sport. Motocross and supercross is my only true hobby and passion it has been since I was probably 4 years old. I grew up watching my dad race quads and my cousins and uncles all raced motocross so I grew up watching them as well. I'm a tree cutter by day that's how make my living and how I afford to do all my racing, its a hard job but keeps me in shape for the most part for racing, I do a lot of heavy lifting and dragging of brush. I remember being a kid and we built a bmx track in the back yard we'd have all our friends come over and race with us, I used to pretend I was a local racer I can't remember his name but he would always start at the gate backwards and catch everybody by the first corner, I would do the same thing with our bmx races I was the fastest kid in our neighborhood I used to love pretending we were on motocross bikes. From the very beginning all I wanted to do when I grew up was be a pro racer I'd blow out the candles on every cake making a wish for a new bike every year but it never happened. I've pretty much got into racing on my own I've bought all my bikes after my kx 60 on my own and paid for all the racing on my own, its a struggle at times but it makes me appreciate everything I have and the help I do get from friends just letting me stay with them at races and travel with them. I hope to one day have a job in the industry I love gear and graphics I love bright colors and designing so I hope to one day venture into maybe a graphics company quite possibly start my own and or start designing some gear lines, motocross is my life its all I think about 90% of the time and I just wanna do it for a as long as I can and even when I can't I wanna be around it I wanna be in the industry I wanna be going to races every weekend
Riding Goals
Ii started out racing when I was about 19 in I believe the 125 C class and now racing open C i would really like to finish top of the open C class this year and move up to Open B class next year. Open C is a good class for me right now because its such a big class its pretty much the biggest class at every race you go to in Michigan and I find I ride better with more competition so I'd like to finish on top of open C this year and move on to the B class next year
Competitive Highlights
I get really stoked when I pull a holeshot lol so I mean I had some awesome starts this year that stick out in my mind but other then that last year I finished 5th in the CADILLAC MOTORCYCLE CLUB series and this year I finished 6th, I had some pretty big crashes this year compared to last year that effected my overalls big time! I placed 10th in D-14 so 10th in the state I was pretty excited about that! Finished kid pack at some pretty big races like the Baja brawl I think that's a pro am national lots of sandbaggers so I though that was pretty decent! I also jumped on a quad this year racing my dads 04 Honda trx 450r I found that racing another class got me loosened up for open c b
