Personal History
Well, I grew up in a small town in western Nebraska named Alliance. Being a small town in the middle of nowhere it is easy for kids to get in a lot of trouble. But for me, I always had motocross to push me toward the straight and narrow. It started in the late '90s with an XR100 that I quickly grew out of it. After I broke the frame on the 100 it was decided that trail riding was not in my future. I finally got a race bike in 2002 the could withstand the punishment, a CR125. All through highschool my friends and I would race and ride as much as possible. We would get to the track at 7 AM and not leave until dark. Unfortunatly, with a highschoolers budget and very little support from my parents, I could only race the local races in alliance. When I graduated highschool in 2006 I had to sell my bike and hang up my helmet for a while. Fast forward to 2011 and I finally had the funds to buy a bike and start racing again. I did however make the mistake of buying a very used 2002 CRF450 which caused nothing but problems for the short time I owned it. Frustrated, I cut my losses and bought a brand new 2011 CRF450. I raced the 2012 season with more ups than downs and achieved my goals which were to become a top three threat at the races every weekend and to stay healthy. Now I look toward the future and the new goals I have set, my dedication and love for this sport is growing by the day and this year is going to be one fun ride!
Riding Goals
My goals for 2013 differ slightly from my previous year. Instead of racing as many local events as possible, I will attempt to race and qualify for some more difficult regional and national events in the "450 B" class. Loretta Lynn's and NMA qualifiers for sure with some possible additions. I will of course attend some local events in between but they will not be my main focus this year.
Competitive Highlights
My highlights for 2012 were a 2nd place moto finish and multiple third place overall finishes. I am pleased to report that I stayed healthy and was able to attend almost all the races I wanted to attend. For my first year back after over seven years off I would have to say all my 2012 goals were realized.
