Personal History

2020 Update:  With 2 races still left in the series, I have won 200B and will ride in 200A for the remainder of 2020. My best overall this year was 13th      I race the High Point GNCC race in 150 Schoolboy 12-17 and got a 3rd place finish and a 35th overall.  My plan for 2021 is race all of the GNCC races.

I have been training with Paddy Holloway once a week for over a year and a half.  He is a great teacher and mentor to me.  I have learned a great deal from Paddy and with my dedication to racing and practicing I have won two charmpionships in two years

2019 Update:  I won the 200C Championship at age 14.  This allowed me move up to 200B for 2020.

My name is Matthew Howard, I am 12 years old.  I started racing this year for the first time.  I finished 1st at Iron Mountain.  When we woke up that morning it was 29 degrees.  The temperature didn't stop me. I was the only D rider that raced all three laps.  I got second place at the Knock Down Hare Scramble.  My worse finish was fourth place.  I love riding and racing my dirt bike.  I ride every chance I get.  My family owns land so I ride everyday that I can.

Riding Goals

Next season I plan to race in the C class and plan to finish in the top 3.  Hoping to win them all.  I am also planning on racing Motocross as well when I have a weekend off from the Hare Scrambles.

Competitive Highlights

Winning 200C at 14 years old in 2019 and winning 200B at 15 years in 2020.

I finish first in the Iron Mountain.  I was in first place going into the woods and keep that place until the end.  I was the only D rider that races all 3 laps.

I finished second in the Knock Down Hare Scramble.  I was second going into the wood and was able to keep that place until the end of the race.

I was able to get 3 - 1st place wins this year.

I went to a Graham Jarvis camp and learned so much from him.  I was able to do everything he asked of us.  I was the youngest (12) kid there on the smallest bike(KX85).?They called me the “No quit kid” because I wouldn’t  give up.  I was able to climb over 3 huge logs.  I was one of only a few that could do it besides Graham.  I have a nice signed trophy that was part of Graham’s tire.  Definitely and once in a lifetime me apportioning that I will never forget. After that camp I got my first 1st win of the season.  Was able to pull off 2 additional ones by the end of the season.
