Personal History
My name is Matt Bacon, I served in 3rd Ranger Battalion from 2003-2007 and I deployed three times with them to Iraq. After Ranger Battalion I went to work for a company called Triple Canopy to provide diplomatic security at the embassy in Baghdad Iraq. I still continue to serve in the Texas National Guard with the 1st of the 103 airborne unit. When I was a kid I loved riding every day. My first bike was a CR 125 at the age of 12. I rode at all the tracks I could but couldn't afford to actually race when I was younger. During my stent in the military and other things I had a long break in riding. I decided to pick it up again this year and continue to get better. I got back into riding during 2017 by buying a 2013 KX 250F. I raced in a scramble cross and enduro race at the end of the year.
I rode mainly trails and free ride until 2020 when my wife and I had our first child. I had taken a break for a while, moved to Pennsylvania, and plan on joining their district six races this year in 2025.
Riding Goals
My goals for 2025 are to make it to at least 1 event a month. I plan to get my son into riding as well this year. He is 5 and already riding on a stayycs.
