Personal History
My family has always been very involved in some form of motor sports. I've been riding snowmobiles for as long as I can remember, and started riding dirt bikes at 10 years old. As soon as I was old enough to work on the neighbors farm, I began putting away money and eventually bought a Suzuki RM125. When I was 15, I finally convinced my parents to take me racing. I've never been without a motocross bike since.
I raced motocross every year until 2017. In 2017, I purchased a local elevator service company in St. Paul, MN. I unfortunately had to put racing aside for a few years to work on the business, and to satisfy the life insurance company. My daughter (Grace) started racing in 2022 and I made the decision to also start racing again.
My family also snowmobiles with an annual goal to ride over 1,000 miles. In 2021-22, we rode 1,050 miles with my 2 daughters in a "Snowcoach" (who were 5 and 2).
Riding Goals
My main goal with riding/racing is to pass along the knowledge to my daughters that I have gained racing/riding. In doing this I continually find new ways to better myself physically, with bike setup, and with overall preparation. As the 2023 motocross season winds down and I prepare for the 2024 season, my goal is to continue to build on what I have learned. I plan to set aside time to travel to warmer areas to continue riding when possible. I want to show up for the 2024 season as prepared as possible and attempt to gain a second state championship.
Competitive Highlights
My biggest accomplishment is getting my daughter into racing motocross. All she wants to do is race and ride her dirtbike. Another notable accomplishment from my past is my 2012 MN District 23 +25A championship. Even though this was a while ago, I still have several fond memories from racing that season with my now wife.
