Personal History
I am 49 yrs old, 5'10", 170 lbs. I work for the city of Jacksonville Florida as a Traffic Signal Technician. I am a father of two teenage boys, who live with me. I have always been into motorcycles and dirt bike riding but only got into racing a few years ago. I had just planned on fixing up a bike to ride with my youngest son, but since it was an interesting vintage bike, a 75 Harley SX 250, I decided to try my hand in racing it in Vintage MX.
I only planned to race one time, but after one race I was hooked. Even though the bike was not competitive, I knew with a little work it would be. So I set out to get myself and the bike into shape and by the end of the season I was in 3rd place for the season inthe 250-500 cc B class. The second year, after coming back from an injury, I manged to finish the season with a 2nd. The 3rd year, I was in 1st place but was unable to attend one of the last races due to another commitment and again finished the year in 2nd.
I have also completed several races with AHRMA, winnng the most recent this year during Bike Week at Gatorback in the 250cc Sportsmans intermediate class.
Riding Goals
The Florida Vintage motorcross season has just begun and I have completed the first race.... a "mud race".... and finished 3rd in my class. I plan on attending as many races as possible and will also race with ARHRMA.
Competitive Highlights
I have raced in a total of 39 races, have had many podium finishes, have won "hole shot" awards and respectable finishes for the overall season. I have the distinction of being the only rider in Florida raacing a "Harley" on the MX track!
