Personal History

I am a Military brat, was born in Germany and have been all over the world. I picked up racing in Alaska around the age of 13, and now my kids want to learn. I also served in the US Army, US National Guard, and US Air Force Reserves. I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 with the Army. I am a father to 3 amazing boys (15, 13, 4 month old) and husband to an amazing wife who is currently in the US Army. I have been a Firefighter for the City of Columbia for the past 6 1/2 years. I moved away from Columbia and now that I am back I am trying to pursue my career as a Firefighter again.

Riding Goals

Spending time with my kids is all I can ask for, to be a good role model for them. When I was there age I started racing, my kids found out and I showed them some VHS (yes, you read that right) tapes of me racing. I purchased a 2017 YZ250F after I got my kids into racing. Watching them from the sidelines is not what I wanted to do, I wanted to be out there with them and enjoying quality time training and racing together. I am currently competing in our local BAR 2 BAR series races. This is 10 races spread out over 4 motorcross tracks. I race in the warrior class which was created for Veterans/Active Duty/Fire/Police career members. It has been a really long time since I have raced and I am considered a beginner again. My plans for this year is to upgrade my 2017 Yamaha to a newer make/model. My current bike is a kick start and I would really like an electric start and learn how the new bikes respond with mapping. My goal is to be able to build my skills back up so I can enter the 250D class and race against my kids.

Competitive Highlights

This year is my first full season particpating in the BAR 2 BAR races in South Carolina. They run the series 2/3 times a year depending on weather conditions and how long the previous season goes with make up races. I placed 3rd in one of the BAR 2 BAR races, unfortunately the Warrior class that I compete in is mixed between 450 and 250 riders. I will be hopefully participating in the 250D class after I purchase a new model bike. My family and I just started racing and we look forward to only imporving with more seat time and training sessions.
